Thankful for today, being able to finally have an in person field day at UKREC! It feels like forever...thanks to covid! Thankful to be able to show company representatives and farmers and extension agents/associates all of our plot work! To be honest three years ago....is how it all started with my internship with Weed Science, and being honest... I wasn't sure if I was going to like it! I didn't know many weed species, I didn't know what chemicals to spray for certain species. I barely knew anything and thats even growing up on a farm! I never asked, I just knew they were going to spray and that was good enough for me! I knew basic weeds and of course Roundup and yes I could've learned more but I didn't think I'd be so interested! But things changed quick! Who knew I would find joy in being right on what herbicide to spray or what weed is that or identifying herbicide damage! The only thing I'm not a fan of is counting the weeds especially waterhemp but looking like there will be a lot of that in the next coming years thanks to my project! Thankful for the people I work with, and all the experience and knowledge I have and continue to gain!
