Quick and easy harvest meal and not to mentioned delicious!
Pork (here i’m using pork steaks, well and bacon😉) cut up and cooked slow in butter, salt, and pepper! The add Bacon! Knorr creamy garlic shells….follow directions on packet. EASY! Make some Mash.. For us I do 4 potatoes, peel, slice and boil until tender..drain and then add 1/2 stick of butter and 1/2 cup of cream and salt and pepper! Add more if needed. Add in all the Pork with the shells! Then serve, or put in container for the fridge for an easy come home and warm meal. I like this best with mash potatoes on bottom, shells next then the pork! So simple and started as a separate dish! One night.. I was making porkchops, mash potatoes and the shells! Then I read back of Knorr packet and it suggested add bacon and chicken! So why not try more pork… but then mixed together and it was even better! Aaron even approved! And that’s a look at what’s on the menu for some nights in the combine this week..if weather allows or I won’t have to cook for a couple of nights☺️ Try and let me know what you think! Choosing this Friday afternoon to cut up all overflow of garden goods.
Vegetables that were cut up and put in freezer bags to keep for later were: Zucchini, Green Bell Peppers and Yellow Summer Squash. Literally let me start off by saying DELICIOUS...
Freezer is full of sweet corn... What a blessing, so yummy Normally when cooking corn we just boil and drain water and of course add butter. Tonight I changed it up a bit, and tried something new INGREDIANTS 1 cup of milk 1 stick of butter Salt and Pepper A pot full of water Cooked on high until water, butter and milk are boiling, then added corn, and reduced to simmer. and then dig in.... and yes I did have two.. So for this soccer season, my mom has decided to do something new for my sister and my cousin or whoever wants. When I was in school if I had a game after school mom would pick me and we would go get fast food to eat, which was quick and convenient but not the healthiest choice. Then when I started to drive, I did the same. This year for my sister and my cousin, mom has decided to get the girls from school, and have meals already prepped in the car. Those meals include like a chicken wrap cooked at home, fresh fruit, and fresh veggies. (and yes that was todays) Choosing the healthier route. Although this isn't really a recipe... I wanted to share. Today I helped mom prep, and the best part about it is that we haven't had to buy any vegetables from the grocery stores any this summer because of all the homegrown vegetables from the garden and its still producing. Today all vegetables were freshly picked this week from MY GARDEN, and those fresh veggies were able to nourish their body before the game. Couldn't be more proud of my little starter garden, being the first year I was a little skeptical about how much produce we would actually get. Here is a photo of todays fresh veggies for the girls, which included tomatoes, cucumbers, and green bell peppers, all sliced up. |
